He provided an image and we determined that the juvenile California Gull was indeed banded as a chick on Mono Lake. This is great! Our first resight. Thank you Mary for the excellent blog, and Marlin for finding one of our birds! Anyone else who spots a CaGu with an FWS band in addition to a LIGHT BLUE band is welcome to contact me via email - ann.greiner@gmail.com. I contacted Marlin Harms today. Though some of the details of the effort are different now, I distinctly remember a great experience, much of it similar to yours. The reason I am writing now is that I saw a color banded juvenile today in Cayucos, CA and want to know who to contact.
